How to Put Acrylic Stands in an Ita Bag

The safest setup is to secure the stand or its holder to a removable insert, not to the clear PVC window. Keep the hard acrylic from pressing against the window, and use a restraint that can be removed without touching the printed artwork.

Check what kind of acrylic piece you have

Acrylic standee

A character plate that slots into a separate base. It needs more depth than a flat charm.

Acrylic charm

A flat piece with a chain or loop. It is easier to hang but can swing and scratch nearby merch.

Flat acrylic plate

A standee used without its base can often sit inside a clear pocket or custom holder.

METHOD 1 · LOW PROFILE

Use a clear pocket or holder

For small or flat acrylic pieces, a transparent pocket is usually the cleanest method. Attach the pocket to the insert, slide the acrylic inside, then secure the top if the bag will be carried vertically.

This keeps adhesive away from the artwork and reduces movement. It also makes the display flatter, which helps when the clear window has limited depth.

METHOD 2 · ASSEMBLED STAND

Restrain the base, not the printed face

  1. Place the assembled stand on the insert and mark where the base should sit.
  2. Create two small restraint points around the base using clear elastic, transparent cord or another removable strap.
  3. Anchor those restraints through or behind the insert with safety pins or T-pins so the hardware stays mostly hidden.
  4. Gently tilt the insert upright and confirm the stand cannot slide or tip.
  5. Put the insert into the bag and close the display area slowly to check clearance.
Important: do not push a thick standee into a shallow window. If the acrylic presses firmly against the PVC, use a flatter setup or a bag with more display depth.

METHOD 3 · REMOVABLE MOUNTING

If you use adhesive, keep it off the artwork

Removable mounting strips can work on a separate holder or on a smooth stand base, but test the material first. Avoid placing tape, glue or putty directly on printed acrylic surfaces because residue or lifting can damage the finish.

A good rule is simple: attach the holder to the insert; let the holder support the collectible.

FOR ACRYLIC KEYCHAINS

Limit swing before adding more pieces

Acrylic keychains are different from standees. Hang the chain from a secure anchor point, then use a small secondary loop or transparent restraint lower down if the charm swings too much. Leave enough space so neighboring acrylic pieces do not knock against one another while walking.

CLEARANCE TEST

Do this before carrying the bag

  1. Finish the display on a flat table.
  2. Lift the insert upright for 30–60 seconds and watch for sliding.
  3. Place it inside the display compartment.
  4. Close the zipper slowly without forcing the window over the acrylic.
  5. Press lightly around the outside. The PVC should not be stretched tightly over hard edges.
  6. Walk around with the bag and recheck the anchors before taking it to an event.
